Simple Game Plan

Last night, I accompanied Jun to an errand at the nearby mall.  Since we had to wait, we decided to go to our fave destination first.  Where else but the sports outlet.  Jun was the winner this time leaving the store with a new singlet.  I excitedly eyed one, too, which I really liked even before and is on sale now.  I guess this triggered something in Jun and we got into this conversation:

What if the doctor says there’s something wrong and you can’t run?

O nga eh, what if she says that?

…………Long Silence……….

What if the doctor says nga that I can’t run?  What will I do???

(probably sensing my panic)  No, you just have to rest first.  Don’t think about it yet.

You started it eh.

You just pray.

Pray for me, too.

Of course.

This conversation we reluctantly got into just shows that trusting God is a moment to moment thing.  We just have to make that decision again and again everytime the worries come and the doubts get to us.

Our gameplan?

Run Jun!  Rest Mariel.  Pray Sole Mates!

Continue to have fun and live life to the fullest!  🙂

Hi Solemates, only discovered your blog a few days ago. You remind me so much of me & my husband – hubby is my fave running buddy; we’ve gotten so much closer because of running, and we encourage and support each other through training schedules, injuries, de-motivation, running tips, and so forth.

Anyway, i feel for you Mariel. Always, when i feel powerless and can’t control the outcome of my plans, i always repeat Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him,and he will make your paths straight.” Hang in there!

    Hi Khun,

We’re always happy to hear of couples enjoying running together just as we do.

Thanks for the bible verse, too. The Lord must really want me to take that to heart. I started reading a book yesterday and that was the verse the author tackled in the first couple of pages. He’s really hammering it in. ha ha

Appreciate your encouragement. Hope we’ll meet you both in one of the races. Keep running!
